Besides its five parks, the Elkins Parks & Recreation Commission also oversees:

• A Summer Recreational Program for area youth that includes arts and crafts, games and sports all free of charge. The program is staffed by qualified college students majoring in recreation or related fields and assisted by the Foster Grandparent Program.
• Annual City Easter Egg Hunt
• Basketball and baseball clinics
• Mayor’s Intra City Track Meet
• Fishing Derby
