REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL:   COMMERCIAL LAND - The City of Elkins, West Virginia, is seeking development proposals for prime commercial land that is owned by the City.  The site is .79 acres m/l used as the former City of Elkins Maintenance Garage located on a corner lot along 11^th Street and Barron Avenue.  All utilities are in place.  Waterline and sewer line easements crossing the property are reserved.  The property is zoned as C Commercial.  A plat is available upon request.    Proposals may include outright purchase or long-term lease of the property.  Existing structures will be removed by the City.  Proposals should outline:  the development organization or private developer name, address, phone; statement of proposed/planned use; projected number of jobs to be generated; estimated development time frame; total capital investment.  Confidential inquiries may be directed to Dr. Duke Talbott, Mayor of the City of Elkins, 401 Davis Avenue, Elkins, WV  26241, telephone:  304-636-1414 ext 1110.   Personal site inspection visits may be scheduled through the same telephone number.  Proposals must be submitted no later than October 1, 2011.  Acceptance of a proposal will be based on the overall quality of the project as it is reflected in the above listed criteria.  The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
