ELKINS COMMON COUNCIL PROPOSED MINUTES OFSPECIAL MEETING
April 27, 2005

CERTIFICATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL THIRD WARD COUNCIL ELECTION OFMARCH 1, 2005

Elkins City Council met in special session in the council chamber of city hall at2:57 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2005. Present were: Mayor Judith A. Guye; Councilpersons: R. N. Beckwith, V. T. Broughton, A. G. Hamrick, T. Z. Hensil, C. L. Metheny, and K. L. Wilmoth and Deputy City Clerk A. L. Broschart. Absent from the meeting were council members J. S. Bibey, T. P. Ditty, H. R. Elbon, and R. A. Woolwine; and City Clerk City Clerk P. J. Graziani, Jr.

 

The meeting was called to certify theApril 19, 2005 election results that were declared at 2:08 p.m. on April 25, 2005. A quorum of the membership was present. The meeting was conducted according to the Procedural Rules of the Secretary of State.

 

Cm Metheny, seconded by Cm Broughton, MOVED COUNCIL ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THEAPRIL 25, 2005CANVASS OF THE ELECTION AS PRESENTED. The motion carried.

 

Cm Metheny, seconded by Cm Broughton, MOVED COUNCIL CERTIFY THE RESULTS OF THE APRIL 19, 2005 ELECTION AS DECLARED AT THE CANVASS OF APRIL 25, 2005 AND AS REFLECTED IN THE WRITTEN CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION. The motion carried.

 SPECIAL THIRD WARD COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS

 

APRIL 19, 2005

 

The Board of Canvassers of the City of Elkins, having carefully and impartially examined the returns of the election held in said city, in the Third Ward thereof, on the 19th day of April 2005 do hereby certify that in said city for the office of third Ward Council Bobby B. Lloyd received forty-one (41) votes; Arthur G. “Sonny” Hamrick received sixteen (16) votes; and Robert (Bob) Malcolm received sixty-two (62) votes.
